Please pray for me to have the motivation to keep emailing haha. This week was amazing though for real! Big thing for this week was we were able to see Gloria again! She is still on date and she’s been studying the gospel principles manual with Brother Davis, which is awesome. We talked about temples in our lesson and she already knew the purpose of temples and understood that she wants to have her family sealed to her eventually. It’s so cool to see people really understand the gospel. So that was Sunday. Sunday we also had Malik come to church and we taught him on Wednesday. He’s a really humble kid and just loves coming to church, he actually called Brother Miles to make sure he had a ride to church! Love that kid. He is going to be baptized eventually.
Wow sorry this email is so scattered haha I just realized its all over the place. I slacked off today so this is kinda last minute.
Anyways Saturday we went on exchanges with the zone leaders. It was interesting for me because it was all in Spanish... I could follow along in the lessons but only because I just know the order of the lessons haha not because I know Spanish. The highlight for me was that night we were able to give a church tour to an investigator family and we had a part member family accompany us to fellowship them. The husband of the PM[part member] family came and it was also his first time in the church so I was able to give him a tour in English as my companion, Elder Barnes, gave a tour to the rest in Spanish. He’s a really humble guy and the spirit was really strong. Church tours do wonders.
As for one other really good random lesson report... we were able to teach Clarese this week about baptism and she really wants to be baptized. She's 9 and understands everything! Kids are so freaking smart it surprises me sometimes. But she was reading her kids bible as we walked in the house so we used it in the lesson and were able to read with her about baptism and Christ’s baptism. She may be able to set a date this next lesson so fingers crossed!
Besides that this week was great. We have a 5th Sunday lesson we are in charge of with the ward and its going to be all about member missionary work. This ward really is focused on helping their fellow members come back and unite families. It’s also been about 100 degrees all week. Even the native Virginians are complaining about the heat lol.
This week is transfer calls but I’m confident Elder Brown and I will stay together. He’s a great elder and I’m blessed to have him this last transfer.
Love you all, hope to hear from you soon as the time is running out!
