The Temple Trip

Blog 7/31

Wow this week was amazing.  Started off pretty great with zone p-day where we got to go back to HOPEWELL and go bowling and then just hung out at the church.  I’m a little out of practice since I haven’t gone since I was with Elder Knight but it was still great to be back in Hopewell for a bit.

Tuesday was the best day of the week, it was celestial to say the least.  I got to go up to the [Washington D.C.] temple with 30 other missionaries that I have known for the last 2 years and it was unreal.  I love the temple so much!  I didn’t have any crazy experiences but I just loved being there and feeling the spirit of the house of the Lord.  First we were able to have a little meeting with the temple president who was a prior mission president, then we did a session and to close it off we had about 30 minutes in a sealing room where one of the sealers talked to us about how families can be together forever and how important the temple is in God’s plan for us.  President Smith really is an inspired man and really loves all of us missionaries.  A lot of us have served closely with him and it was fun to be there with him and hear some of the things he had for us.  I love the temple and I can’t wait to make it a habit of going when I get home.

Besides that this week was great and just about like usual.  Lots of teaching and testifying of Christ.  Elder Brown is making leaps and bounds as time goes on and it’s so fun to see him gain more and more awareness of what kind of missionary he wants to be.  He will do great things here in the VRM.

Two of our amazing lessons this week were first with Malik who is doing amazing.  He brought a friend to mutual with him and they had a blast.  Then we taught them the Restoration afterwards.  He is coming along slowly but surely in his testimony and you can tell he just feels this is where he needs to be.

Secondly we saw Max and Clarese and were able to teach them the Plan of Salvation.  They haven’t been to church in a while and aren’t baptized, but they have such a good knowledge of the gospel!  They pretty much taught us the Plan of Salvation and they came to church Sunday!  Love them, they're going to be great as they keep coming back and learning more.

We had interviews with President Smith which is always great.  Then Sunday we were kinda in charge with a couple of the ward mission members of a 5th Sunday lesson.  It went great and this ward is the best.

Oh I guess I didn’t say that Elder Brown and I are staying for this next 6 weeks till I hit the plane home.  It’s going to be the best and I can’t wait to see what the Lord has in store.

Love yall
