Hey everyone! So, first thing this week is #LIGHTtheWORLD! The church put out its Christmas initiative this week and its really awesome. I love how we can personalize it and each go out to #LIGHTtheWORLD. So everyone go to Mormon.org and check it out and then for the next 24 days of December participate and #LIGHTtheWORLD. As you do it make sure and share it on social media each time you do something. Haha thats my invitation, it probably sounded dumb but I don't really care, lol, just go #LIGHTtheWORLD! Matthew 5:14-16

Tuesday was transfer day and man it was an adventure. Elder Day got all packed up and stuff Monday night and then Tuesday morning we went and did our last service at the botanical gardens together. So, let’s see if I can describe this... our task today was to put up some sheets of plastic on a bar that was about 18 inches off the ground so it kinda draped over and made a little barrier. We would drape the plastic over, then cut a hole where the supports were so it was flat, then poke a hole through the plastic with scissors and then zip tie it to the bar. (If you get lost I can draw a pic haha just email me). Well we did this for about 50 yards down the bar and were on the last one, literally the very last hole we had to punch. Well Elder Day ends up making a wrong move and when the scissors go through the plastic they also went through his finger as well slicing his index finger pretty good. So, we wrapped it up went to the Insta-care and he ended up getting 3 stitches to hold it together. We were about 35 min late for transfer meeting and I actually missed finding out who my new companion was till I was able to ask another missionary.

My new companion is Elder Ryker Gordon from Payson UT! He was born[editor: missionary talk for the place he started his mission] in Farmville when I was in Burkeville so we are already homies. Should be a great transfer! After the meeting we went and saw Bruce, he was going to have surgery but they ended up pushing it back to later.

We also had a lesson with Levi this week and talked more about the Restoration and the Book of Mormon. We read the introduction with him and he was really getting it. He recognizes the Holy Ghost really well and I love teaching him. He has been reading the Book of Mormon with his wife every night a little bit and he really wants to know if it’s true. Just needa get that guy to church!

We also taught Sarah and Tyler this week who is the lady we gave a blessing to a while ago. She is super into it and has been reading the Book of Mormon along with Tyler who is 11. We had a really good Restoration lesson and focused on prophets and how she can get her answer to know if the Church is true and the prophets are back. She also needs to come to church but it's hard cause she's not feeling well.

Wednesday afternoon was a crazy good day for finding people. We had like 6 lessons and they were all pretty descent. One of the guys was Jonathan, he had talked to missionaries before and came outside in a robe telling us he worships Satan and reads a book called the Codex Giggis.... haha idk what that is but we broke him down and found out that he was just messing with us. We ended up having a good lesson with him after that and are hopefully going to start teaching him.

Thanksgiving was pretty good. President Smith challenged us as a mission to do a couple things that we all kinda just did inside like write letters to priesthood leaders and pray with gratitude and that was cool, adds the spirit to Thanksgiving. We also went out and found some police officers and thanked them for their service.

We went to the Meads for Thanksgiving and it was awesome. They had tons of food and it was just a lot of fun to be around a family like that. Brother Mead’s family was also there and they weren't members so we got to talk about what we do as missionaries and the church a little bit. Sister Mead also made my mom’s raspberry pretzel salad for me because my mom had texted her mid-week. That was unreal and I am so grateful to have my mom, but also other moms in the mission and back home.

Friday was kind of a slower day, I think because everyone was out with family and stuff. But, we were able to find a chick named Katelyn who is so solid. She is a little older than us and works at a dental office. Well there are tons of Mormon people that come to VA for the dental school and stuff and so she knows a ton of Mormons. So we had a really awesome lesson and told her about the Book of Mormon and the Restoration and how she can know that it’s true and she really does. She was all pumped to come to church too but she never ended up coming.

Saturday was also kinda slower, we were able to see some less active people but didn't have too much success with teaching appointments. It’s starting to get colder here though and idk how I feel about it haha.

Overall it was a pretty good week. I’m excited for this holiday season and we've already been sharing the #LIGHTtheWORLD video with everyone we see. It’s so great to have something that can bring us all together and remember the true meaning of Christmas.

If you still haven't gone to mormon.org at this point go do it right now!

Love yall!
